Top Of The Pop's Lanuage Review

The language used in the Top of the Pops magazines interview contrasts a lot to other magazines.
The headline for the article is kept simple ‘Come to Camp Rock’ and is also an advertisement for the upcoming film the band are featured in. Keeping the headline simple is inviting for the target reader to read as they are most likely to be of a young age and will fill confident to read the interview if the headline uses simple words.
They have also played on the ‘Rock’ as it is a brighter colour and outlined in black, they are playing with this word as it also describes the film in the eye of the reader.
The subheading uses the rule of three ‘screaming fans, ritzy red carpets and police escorts…it’s all in a day’s work for Camp Rock film starts the JONAS BROTHERS’ the rule of three is used at the beginning of the sentence this give the reader a insight in what the interview will be about, have the Jonas Brothers name in capital letters makes it more exciting for the reader their name also stands out form the rest of the text. Their name is also in another colour this makes it stand out from the rest of the text it makes their name more eye catching and looking at the text their name instantly stands out.
When looking at the interview you instantly notice that it is set out in a classic interview form, the question then the answer, you also notice that when answering the questions the band members answer in a group then take it in turns to answer then in a group again. This gives a chance for the reader to get an insight on each band member’s personality.
The interview is also set out in two different colours the questions are in red and the name of the band member is in a lighter red, the answer to the actual question is in black. This makes it simpler for the target audience to read.
The interviewer’s questions are simple questions such as ‘Would you ever date a fan?’ the reader can understand the questions, and the answers the band gives are the answers the readers want to know being a young age.
In the answers to the questions they have used a considerably amount of explanation marks have been used this emphasis the excitement of the answers to the reader it also keeps the excitement running through the article.
The questions asked vary to keep the readers attention, the questions range from there up coming film to their craziest fan story. Each answer to the questions vary it seems that the band or the editor as focused on the answers to some of the questions that others, the focus is obviously more on the questions about ‘camp rock’ as that what the two page feature is about. The length of the answers are also a key point on how they keep the readers attention, each answer obviously varies but compared to other music magazines these answers are very short, this is because of the target audience again, being a young age they audience will not want to read long answers.
